Naked Again!!!

So, I was working tonight and slept all day, so really, I thought I'd have nothing to report, but SURPRISE!! I do!!!

Nanny and Grandpa came to visit and they brought Lincoln some Easter treats. OH!!! AND ALSO --- tonight around 5:30 ish - as I was in the bathroom getting ready to go to work, Lincoln came in and said: "I go pee and poop in the potty." He's been peeing in the potty for a while now, but we've been having a bit of difficulty with the whole pooping in there!! He'll say he has to go, but then he won't. He'll just sit there and will end up going in his diaper or underwear, BUT tonight, we had success!!! Lincoln pooped in the potty!!! We did a happy little dance about and clapped and cheered and it was much excitement between Lincoln and I!! I also drew turtle tattoos on his hands to celebrate the wondrous occasion!!!

SO, for a day when I slep all day and didn't expect to have big news, I luckily did have something to write about - which I'm sure Lincoln will appreciate when he's older!!

Also, Nanny and Grandpa came and so Lincoln got to spend the evening with them. Nanny went into the bedroom to check on you at about eleven, just before they were going to bed and then she called me at work!

Our phone conversation went like this:

Nanny - "Are you busy?"
Me - "No, not really, why?"
Nanny - "Then you can come home here to your son."
Me - "Why?"
Nanny - "Well what do you do when you check on him and find him naked in his bed? Can I leave him like that?"

Of course I told her most definitely not!! I can only imagine what we might have to deal with in the morning if she left Lincoln sleeping naked like that!!! So she redressed him and then went off to bed.

Well, I'm actually at work now, writing this on my lunch break which is nearing it's end, so I should sign off for today. I was going to put a picture of Lincoln on the potty in here, but now that I'm at work, I don't have access to them, so it will have to wait.

Take care and Goodnight.

Not much to Report....

I worked again today so Lincoln spent the day with Lindsey, Jamie & Kendra. Lincoln still has a runny nose and cough. He's pretty grouchy today. We made a quick trip up to Walmart to buy some dog food and I bought Lincoln the "Toy Story" movie. He loves Buzz Lightyear and Woody.
He calls it "The Robot Show." and will sit and watch it over and over.

After Walmart, we came home and watched the movie while Lindsey ran out to visit her friends. They will all be in bed a little later tonight, so I'm hoping that means Lincoln will sleep in a little later too!! I have a few loads of laundry to do tomorrow to get ready for our trip to Cranbrook. Then two nightshifts and we're off!!

No pictures today since I worked all day. Probably none tomorrow or on my nightshift either, but then I'll be off for 12 days so I should have a lot more to write about and pictures to add.

Until then, take care & Goodnight!!

NAKED BABY!!

So, not much to report on these days, since I worked all day and will again tomorrow. I am still going to try to keep up though.

A funny thing happened last night when I put Lincoln to bed. He will usually throw his pillow or his 'Mister Bear' out of his bed and then cry and call for me to come in and pick them back up for him. He doesn't do this every night - just once in a while. He has a little music box that plays Winnie the Pooh for seven minutes and then shuts off, so when he's in one of those kinds of moods, I'll tuck him in, turn on the music, and then leave and when he throws his things out, I'll wait for the music to stop and then go back in and restart it and pick up his things and tell him that this is it and when Winnie the Pooh shuts off he's out of luck.
So, last night, I tucked him in, and left and a few minutes later I could hear him in there crying, but he wasn't calling for his 'Mister Bear' or his pillow... it sounded like he was saying diaper. I chalked it up to him fussing and went about my business. The music ended and I went in to restart it and see what he had been, and still was, fussing about. I open the door and walk in towards the music box and reset it, then turn to pick up whatever it was he threw out. Yup, he'd completely disrobed and was standing in his crib naked. Diaper, pj's and undershirt were on the floor. So, what sounded like 'Diaper' really was in fact - 'diaper'. He's unzipped and removed his pj's before but never gone so far as to take off the diaper shirt and diaper. Quite a little shock for me really.
Apparently, he did the same thing this morning to Lindsey. She heard him crying at around seven and went up to tell him to go back to sleep (cause he usually will sleep until 8 ish - sometimes even nine!) and when she went in to lay him back down, there is was again - naked as a jay bird! Crazy kid!! She re-dressed him, told him to go back to sleep and he did, sleeping until 9:09am.
Well, that's about all I have to write about today. A long day at work for me and another one tomorrow so no pictures today either. OH wait, I will put up a picture here. Since I was writing about him going to bed, I'll put in a picture from another nap-time experience. This one time, I put him down for a nap and said - "Go to sleep." and apparently, I didn't tell him to lay down and he fell asleep sitting straight up. When I went in to check on him, it scared the life out of me!!

So, there's the picture and now I'm off to bed!!

Oh, and here's my first attempt at putting a video on here too. I didn't think anyone would believe he actually did this so I video taped me lying him back down.

Here's hoping the video worked!!

Goodnight, and take care.

Early Easter

I have to work on Easter Sunday, so we had our Easter this morning. Lincoln ended up in my bed again at about 4am since he kept coughing himself awake and by that point, I was getting tired of getting up and going into his room to lay him down and cover him back up. This cough that he has is pretty darn nasty!!

We got up about 7:30 this morning and had a nice warm bath to start the day before we headed out to see what the Easter Bunny had left for us. The bath was partly because I thought it would be a nice way to start the day and partly because I was trying to stall going out into the living room as long as possible. There were eggs and treats hidden all over the living and play rooms and Jamie, Kendra and Lindsey, and Christine & Junior their kids were going to come up for an Easter hunt at 9:30 and I didn't want Lincoln to have a head start.

So, after a bath, we went out to the kitchen to check and see if the Easter Bunny had come and what he had left for Lincoln.

He was pretty excited about the eggs. He did get quite a bit of chocolate. But he also got some other stuff as well.

A movie about evil chickens who steal chocolate from happy bunnies. We snuggled in bed and watched it while we were waiting for our friends.

And he also got a really soft blue Easter bunny and a nice spring hat for when (IF) the weather ever warms up here. We went out in the yard to play this afternoon and had to come back inside because it started snowing on us!! And that was after the crazy hailstorm had hit us earlier.

As you can see from this picture, he started his morning off with some Easter chocolate before breakfast. But he did eat all his scrambled eggs and 'dip dip' (ketchup) so I really can't complain too much.

The Easter Bunny also left some little toy cars and a firetruck.
He loves to play with cars and trucks. That's what he did while he waited for me to make our breakfast. He was quite happy to sit in his highchair and play with the new cars.
It worked for me because it meant he was contained and not off finding candy in the living room.

Once breakfast was done, it was time for the great egg and candy hunt. Jamie and Kendra came upstairs with Lindsey and Christine, Junior and their three little ones came over as well. Lincoln went into the living room and spotted an egg right away and looked a little confused by it - holding it up for me to see and saying - "Look what I find, Mommy." Christine's two older ones, Wyatt, 4, and Grace, 3, along with Jamie were pretty good at searching, but Lincoln, Kendra, and Christine's youngest, Myles, 1, didn't really seem to care much for the search. They were all more content to just play and watch the older ones looking. The Easter bunny was smart and color coded everything so in the end, even if they didn't find their own treats, we sorted them out and it kept everything nice and fair.

There's Lincoln at the start of the search.
He was into looking for about five minutes before he decided he had better things to do.

Below are just some random pictures during the hunt.

Once the hunt was over, Christine and her crew left to go and visit their grandmother. Jamie stayed up and played for a little while and Kendra went downstairs with her mom to have a nap. Later that day, we went outside to play in the back yard and burn off some of the chocolate and candy. Then we all went for a drive to the Exhibition grounds to check out the horses and cows. They must be having some kind of rodeo or something coming up, because there were way more horses there than usual. We got to see a few of them being led around and some being ridden. Usually, we just drive along and look at them all in their pens. There were a bunch of cows outside with numbers on them too. We rolled down our windows and listened to them 'moo'. We also heard a couple of the horses 'neigh' as well. Kendra decided that she was a little tired so she napped while we checked out the many many horses. Then it was home, dinner and a nice relaxing bath. All in all, it was a pretty nice way to spend and early Easter!

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!

April 2, 2010

Lincoln ended up in my bed last night. He has developed this crazy cough...and today it escalated to include a runny nose. Needless to say, he's a little bit grumpy. When he first woke up - he was very adamant that he didn't want to have any cereal. I even offered to make him some scrambled eggs, his favorite food of choice these days, but he was having none of that. He just seemed to want to laze around on his car couch and watch a movie.

Here is is, fully just laying on his pillow with his blanket watching:
"Rolie Polie Olie: The Easter Extravaganza."
He loves his Rolie Polie. It seems like that and Scooby Doo are his favorites these days.

Now, he's seen the flash and realized I was taking a picture of him.

And despite not feeling so great, he still has a smile for his Mommy!
Lindsey had to run out to the store for a few minutes so Kendra came up to join us.
Jamie Lynn was still fast asleep in her own bed.

Kendra and Lincoln snuggled for a few minutes.
Lincoln didn't mind sharing his pillow with her!But then she took the blanket so he left and headed off to lay in my bed.

At first, Kendra looked a little sad that he had run off and left her.

But then, I think she realized she had the whole pillow AND blanket to herself,
so she got pretty happy pretty quickly.

After a lazy start to our morning, we headed out to the mall to do a little bit of running around and some Easter shopping for our egg hunt tomorrow. I have to work Easter Sunday, so I sent a special letter to the Easter Bunny and he's going to come to our house a day early.

After the mall, we came back home for a nap. He slept pretty good except that the cough kept making him stir and toss around quite a bit. When he did wake up, we grabbed Jamie and headed for the pool where we met up with Christine, Junior, Wyatt, Grace and Myles. Lincoln's cough seemed to act up a bit, but he loves the pool. He and Jamie held hands and jumped in to the wave pool together over and over again. Then we went into the hot tub to warm up -- which makes no sense because once we were done in there, we went into the main pool, which is very cold BEFORE you go in the hot tub, so it makes no sense to hit the hot tub first, but that's what they wanted to do, so that's what we did. After that, we went back in the wave pool and met up with Christine and her crew again -- they don't go in the deeper cold pool. So we played thme and then did a few lazy laps around the river before hitting the shower and heading for home.

Then it was time for supper and a short play time, followed by some stories and cuddling and off to bed, which is where I'm heading now too. ((NOT BAD though, I've kept it up for two days in a row now!!)) Tomorrow I'll have some Easter Pictures, because like I said, I've got an 'in' with the Easter bunny and when I have to work - he comes early!

Goodnight!

Easter Egg Hunt

So, I started this a few months ago and have only just now remembered that I was going to post in it daily... or at the very least weekly...

Today we went to some friends house for an Easter Egg hunt. I told Lincoln we were going there and he promptly told me he wanted to go to Nanny and Grandpa's house... but that wasn't an option. We got there and he was kinda clingy. My little boy is definitely shy and insecure when it comes to new places.

He did eventually come around and sat at the table with some of the kids and ate a cupcake and marshmallow bunny -- skipped right over the veggies and went strait to the good stuff!

After that we went outside and had an Easter Egg hunt.... or should I say... the other kids hunted for eggs... Lincoln's not big on chocolate and had more fun pushing a truck around and going down the slide. It was nice of the other kids to find eggs and put them in his basket though.

He did have a really good time. Thanks guys!!

After that we came home and had a little nap, then we cuddled down and watch Scooby Doo... Lincoln sings the theme song but instead of Scooby Dooby Doo, Lincoln refers to Scooby as Scooby dooby dooboo... it's pretty darn cute and if I can figure out how to add a video to this site, I may have to just upload one of him singing.

After that, we went to the mall with Auntie Lindsey, Jamie & Kendra to check out the dollar store and also to pick up Lincoln's picture with the Easter Bunny! The picture says it all when it comes to describing how Lincoln felt about sitting with that bunny.

This picture isn't so great, it has a bit of a glare because I had to take a picture of the picture in order to upload it to the computer. Despite the flash causing the glare, I don't think it loses the effect of how happy Lincoln was to be put with the bunny... The little helper even tried to bribe him with chocolate, but he was having none of that!

Ahh well... what can I say... it matches the Christmas picture of last year... poor little guy... AND for the record, I'd like it noted that although he's pretty sad... I picked him up right away!!

Well, I did my job and wrote about today... let's see how long it is before I write again. I'm hoping to get in the habit of at least daily... but that obviously didn't work for me last time.

Goodnight for now.

Lincoln is almost two, just 13 more days and I thought this would be a nice idea. If I'd been on my toes, I would have started such a journal years ago, but I've never claimed to be brilliant on the computer, so I only just learned how to do this. Actually, if you want to get really technical, I only just learned that you could do this. I do think it's a pretty darn good idea. Hopefully, I'll keep it up, but we'll see what happens.

Today started much like any other day, we woke up, ate breakfast and went swimming. I did buy an underwater camera yesterday, so today, I tried it out. We'll see if the pictures turn out, although, honestly, I have some serious doubts. I couldn't really see through the viewer when I was taking the pictures, so once I get them developed, I guess I'll know for sure. I'm fully prepared to buy another camera and a pair of goggles and try again.

Well, we're off to Walmart, so I'll have to finish this later.
